About the Role and Organization

Adani Group, a leading diversified infrastructure conglomerate in India, invites applications for the position of Associate Manager - Survey based in Mundra, Gujarat. The company is renowned for its India-wide transport, logistics, and energy utilities infrastructure with a strong commitment to sustainable development and ESG principles.

Job Purpose

This role involves conducting hydrographic and topographic surveys essential for dredging support operations. The candidate will utilize various advanced instruments to develop highly accurate bathymetric charts while ensuring stringent data quality control.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design and implement survey plans factoring in environmental parameters to optimize accuracy.
  • Allocate necessary resources aligned with project objectives.
  • Perform complex hydrographic surveys to monitor sediment levels and identify underwater hazards for dredging safety.
  • Generate detailed underwater maps and models using industry software such as Hypack and AutoCAD.
  • Analyze tidal data to maintain consistent depth readings and adjust dredging activities accordingly.
  • Maintain and calibrate survey instruments regularly; schedule preventative maintenance and stay abreast of technological advancements.
  • Manage survey data by organizing storage, backups, and standardizing formats for usability.
  • Implement rigorous quality control measures by calibrating equipment and validating collected data continuously.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports to key stakeholders efficiently, preserving data integrity and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with department heads on budgeting, control survey-related costs, and promote cost-effective resource utilization.
  • Continuously assess and enhance survey methodologies incorporating modern techniques and digital innovations including AI for improving operational efficiency and accuracy.

Collaboration and Stakeholders

Work internally with Heads of Sections, Project and Works Managers, Dredging Personnel, and heads of departments. External coordination includes engagement with National Authorities for technical compliance.

Technical Proficiencies and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Hypack software applications.
  • Strong skills in cost engineering, budget control, and survey data management systems.
  • Expertise in environmental impact assessment, regulatory compliance, documentation, and reporting standards related to hydrographic and topographic surveys.
  • Educational qualifications include Diploma in Survey, Naval Survey Recorder, or Diploma/B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience as a Hydrographic and Topographic Surveyor.
