Job description
Role Overview
This position supports the implementation of internal audit activities focused on reviewing specific operations within the entities. The associate evaluates business processes, risks, and internal control effectiveness, contributing to independent assessments for the assigned sections under the guidance of the assistant manager audit.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in delivering the internal audit plan by completing assigned audit working papers on schedule.
- Prepare audit documentation adhering to professional standards while preserving valid supporting evidence for audit conclusions.
- Carry out daily audit activities across various clients efficiently and competently.
- Identify and communicate significant accounting and auditing issues to senior audit personnel.
- Liaise with clients to ensure smooth information exchange between them and the audit team.
- Follow audit testing procedures prepared by the Assistant Manager, evaluating the design and functioning of controls relevant to key risks.
- Systematically organise audit documentation to facilitate reporting of findings, observations, and recommendations.
- Report audit results and suggest corrective actions, operational improvements, and cost reduction measures.
- Ensure resolution of review comments from Manager and Assistant Manager prior to finalising findings.
- Participate in special projects delegated by management.
- Maintain confidentiality to protect the organisation’s reputation.
Educational & Professional Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance.
- CPA certification preferred or eligibility to enroll for CPA examination.
- One to two years of recent audit experience in public accounting contexts.
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Up to four years combined experience in audit and accounting domains.
Additional Skill and Experience Criteria
- Proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are desirable.
- Strong technical foundation in audit procedures.
- Understanding of business operations.
- Effective communication capabilities and ability to establish productive working relationships.
- Demonstrates both independent work capacity and teamwork skills.
- High attention to detail with strong data analytic abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
