Job Summary and Benefits
This position is based in Araglin, County Cork and offers a frontline salary ranging from 30,000 to 35,000. Role Objectives and Duties
As an Assistant Support Worker, you will be tasked with delivering high-quality care to service users, assisting them in leading meaningful and fulfilling lives. The position involves working with individuals who may have autism, Asperger syndrome, acquired brain injuries, challenging behaviors, intellectual disabilities including Alzheimer’s or dementia, mental health rehabilitation needs, or personality disorders.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Supporting individuals in implementing their daily plans.
- Accompanying and assisting service users in community activities.
- Helping with education, skill development, and accomplishing personal goals.
- Supporting everyday living skills such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, attending appointments, and facilitating family visits.
- Adhering to company policies, procedures, standards, regulations, and codes of practice in a reasonable and practical manner.
- Working on a shift basis covering all hours and days of the week to ensure continuous care.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- No formal qualification required for Assistant Support Worker roles; all necessary training will be provided.
- Social Care Worker candidates must hold a Level 7 or Level 8 degree in Social Care, Healthcare, or a related discipline and be registered with CORU.
- Relevant life experience is advantageous but not essential.
- A positive work attitude and a strong passion for supporting individuals are essential.
- A full driver’s license is required or candidates must be in the process of obtaining one.
