Overview
The role of Assistant / Deputy General Manager Finance & Accounts involves partnering strategically with the CFO and business heads to ensure comprehensive financial management. This includes accurate financial reporting, solid internal controls, taxation efficiency, regulatory compliance, and delivering financial insights that drive growth, profitability, and governance for domestic and international operations.
Position Details
- Position: Assistant / Deputy General Manager Finance & Accounts
- Reporting to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
- Location: Vadodara, with frequent interaction with plant sites and overseas subsidiaries
- Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA)
- Experience: 12 to 15+ years preferably in specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, or listed companies
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead preparation and finalization of standalone and consolidated financial reports (monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, annual) adhering to Ind AS and US GAAP standards for international subsidiaries.
- Ensure compliance with NSE/BSE reporting requirements, including quarterly results, investor disclosures, and audit committee documentation.
- Oversee accounting for SEZ units, exports, foreign currency dealings, derivatives, and intercompany transactions while driving improvements in closing timings and accuracy.
- Coordinate statutory audits, tax audits, cost audits, and secretarial audits, managing direct tax matters, transfer pricing, income tax filings, assessments, and appeals.
- Ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations such as Companies Act, FEMA, RBI guidelines, ROC, DGFT, SEZ laws, and insurance requirements.
- Manage financial reporting, taxation, and compliance for overseas subsidiaries in the USA and Europe, including intercompany pricing and transfer pricing policy alignment.
- Design and maintain internal financial controls, RCMs, SOPs, delegation authorities, and responsibility matrices for a listed organization.
- Lead financial controlling tasks such as MIS preparation, variance and cost analyses, margin tracking, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning linked with expansion and capacity projects.
- Leverage SAP B1/SAP HANA systems and advance tools like Excel and Power BI to enhance reporting, automation, and financial analytics.
- Guide and develop the finance team across corporate and plant locations while fostering strong partnerships with auditors, bankers, consultants, regulators, and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain high ethical standards, integrity, and compliance culture in line with a public listed company.
Essential Skills and Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of Ind AS, consolidated financial reporting, and compliance for listed companies.
- Well-versed in direct taxation, transfer pricing, and basics of international taxation.
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Understanding of manufacturing and chemical industry cost structures.
- Strong analytical and commercial skillset driving data-based management decisions, export growth, and R&D support.
- Problem-solving and risk management capabilities with a structured approach.
- High ownership attitude, attention to detail, and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Adaptability to fast-paced, compliance-heavy environments with integrity-aligned leadership suitable for public listings.
