Role Overview
Perfetti Van Melle is hiring an Area Sales Manager for the North region based in Gurugram, Haryana. This is a full-time, on-site field sales role focused on distributor management, market execution, team coordination, and growth of the company’s brands across the assigned area.
Distributor Management
- Ensure distributor orders are executed properly and payments are tracked and completed.
- Identify, appoint, and onboard new distributors or replace existing ones when required.
- Review the distributor’s business performance regularly, including investment levels and overall health.
- Monitor and improve distributor service standards.
- Keep close control over pipeline stock and closing inventory at the distributor level.
Sales and Market Execution
- Expand sales volume for all company brands within the assigned territory.
- Improve product availability across the area.
- Prepare and submit required reports in the prescribed format on a routine basis.
- Execute line plans and sales norms, including distributor holding, coverage policy, and reporting requirements.
- Create and implement market and area development plans.
Team Management
- Track the performance of DSE, SRD, and PSR teams.
- Ensure every team member delivers on their responsibilities consistently and fully.
- Maintain simple, regular, and effective communication with the team.
- Build the capability of the team through guidance and development.
- Hire distributor salesmen and contractual salesmen as pilots where needed.
Education and Experience
The role requires an MBA or PGDM from a premium B-school. Candidates should have at least 2 years of overall field sales experience in an FMCG setup.
Skills and Knowledge
The ideal candidate should bring strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, along with the ability to plan and execute sales initiatives. The role also calls for people management, stakeholder networking, budgeting, forecasting, and working knowledge of MS Office and commercial fundamentals.
