Area Finance Controller

Role Overview

The Area Finance Controller is primarily tasked with upholding the accuracy and integrity of financial data through established financial controls. This role involves consolidating financial information, preparing precise and timely reports, and developing financial models. The incumbent will analyze internal financial statements, such as profit and loss accounts, working capital, costs, prices, expenses, revenues, and rates of return, alongside assessing external economic factors affecting the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply financial control and reporting procedures to maintain data integrity.
• Prepare consolidated financial reports and perform financial modelling.
• Analyze various internal financial metrics and external economic conditions impacting operations.
• Act as an individual contributor with deep technical expertise while occasionally mentoring junior colleagues or overseeing lower-level professionals.
• Set and achieve objectives independently and influence long-term tactical decisions within the organization.
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of the business's nature and interdepartmental interdependencies.
• Lead teams of less experienced professionals and adapt departmental plans to operational needs.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Qualified or near-qualified Chartered Accountant (CA), ACCA, or CIMA professional.
• In-depth understanding and compliance with IFRS and GAAP principles.
• Eight to ten years of experience in accounting and financial reporting, with exposure to audit and international accounting standards.
• Strong analytical capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and SAP.
• Experience in the transportation or logistics sector is advantageous.
