Architect - AI Training Contract Role

Overview

Handshake is looking for seasoned Plan Examiners, Technical Architects, Architectural Technicians, and related professionals to collaborate on AI research via flexible hourly contracts. This position differs from conventional architecture, design, or permitting roles. Instead, it leverages your expertise in assessing construction documents and building plans to enhance AI capabilities.

Participants will evaluate AI-generated architectural content for precision and industry relevance, thereby aiding AI comprehension of architectural documentation, building codes, construction drawings, technical communication, and best practices.

This role is project-based and can be undertaken alongside your primary job.

Responsibilities

• Use professional experience to review architectural plans, construction documents, technical drawings, and building code requirements.
• Create high-quality training data and assess AI-generated responses for correctness and relevance.
• Work fully remotely with flexible scheduling and no minimum weekly hours.
• Engage approximately 5–20 hours per week when active on projects.
• Potential for future project consideration depending on organizational needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Plan Examiner, Technical Architect, Architect Technician, or similar roles related to architectural/construction documentation.
• Proficient in reviewing architectural plans, construction permits, or technical documentation.
• Strong familiarity with architectural standards, building codes, and technical materials.
• Keen attention to detail and capability to detect technical errors and inconsistencies.
• Self-motivated with ability to adhere to detailed written instructions.
• Professional demeanor, sound judgment, and discretion in handling confidential or proprietary information.
• No previous AI experience necessary.
