Role overview
Aljabr Rent a Car is hiring an Application Engineer in Dammam to help build and improve software that supports the company’s operations. The role focuses on reviewing existing business workflows, finding ways to improve them through technology, leading the application team, and supporting user training.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the application portfolio along with related projects.
- Spot opportunities to improve, redesign, or simplify applications and business processes.
- Provide administrative support for applications whenever required.
- Work closely with business teams, vendors, and IT leadership to shape a long-term vision for supported and new systems, including roadmaps and business processes.
- Handle stakeholder needs and expectations while planning and delivering projects and preparing project outputs.
- Manage project trade-offs involving scope, quality, timelines, budget, resources, and risk.
- Help build a strong technical environment centered on quality, quick improvements, strong security, and smooth user experience.
- Oversee application maintenance outsourcing and software contract arrangements.
- Set and monitor standards for scope, financial control, and service level agreements while helping reduce risk and cost and improve business impact.
- Bring strong practical experience in systems integration.
Qualifications
This position requires a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a higher qualification, plus at least 5 years of experience in a comparable role. Professional certification in any of CSM, PMP, ITIL Foundation, or COBIT, or an equivalent credential, is also expected.
Technical background
The role calls for hands-on knowledge of project management principles and software management methods, database administration, and PL/SQL. Experience with Oracle is considered an advantage. Familiarity with integration technologies such as JSON, along with SaaS and cloud-based services, is required.

The position is based onsite in Dammam, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. It is a full-time role.
