Overview
Join a globally renowned Fortune 500 company dedicated to innovation and excellence. As an Airfreight Officer, you will contribute to the development and management of airfreight forwarding products while collaborating with diverse teams such as Sales and Marketing to enhance service offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist supervisors in developing and improving airfreight forwarding services in coordination with cross-functional departments.
- Plan and manage daily shipment schedules to fulfill operational needs and customer expectations.
- Negotiate pricing with airlines and vendors following established margin guidelines to set competitive sell rates.
- Validate airline billing accuracy and address any discrepancies promptly to ensure smooth financial processes.
- Act as an airfreight operations expert, providing advice for business tenders and ensuring compliance with customs and trade regulations.
- Execute corrective measures as directed by management to address audit findings and operational deficiencies.
- Regularly assess and refine workflows to meet changing operational demands and customer requirements.
- Perform additional duties assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in any discipline favorably in Logistics & Supply Chain or Business Administration.
- Between 3 to 5 years of practical experience in airfreight or related operations.
- Comprehensive understanding of IATA regulations; possession or knowledge of Dangerous Goods (DG) certification is advantageous.
- Awareness of customs and trade control laws; relevant certifications are beneficial.
- Proven skills in airfreight planning and coordination, including direct communication with airlines, terminals, and internal teams.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills conducive to collaboration across organizational levels.
- Excellent organizational abilities, problem-solving aptitude, and stakeholder relationship management.
- Availability to work a 5.5-day work week on afternoon or night shifts: Monday to Friday from 12 PM to 9 PM or 8:30 PM to 5:30 AM (+1 day), and Saturdays from 12 PM to 4 PM or 6 PM to 10 PM.
