About the Role
Boeing Defence Australia is seeking skilled Aircraft Structural Fitters to join the team supporting the AH-64 Apache helicopter sustainment program based in Townsville, Queensland. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a vital combat helicopter capability for the Australian Defence Force, contributing to precision strike, armed reconnaissance, and close air support missions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural repairs on aircraft as part of routine and phased maintenance schedules.
- Implement System Program Office mandated modifications, Special Technical Instructions, and deviations as directed.
- Ensure all technicians involved in maintenance tasks hold the appropriate qualifications and certifications in accordance with trade authorisation records.
- Adhere strictly to approved maintenance processes and procedures to guarantee safety and compliance.
- Promote a safe and healthy work environment by maintaining compliance with Occupational Health and Safety policies.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to assist in the development of less experienced technical staff.
- Contribute to operational improvements by suggesting problem-solving strategies and enhancing work methods.
Candidate Profile
- Holds an interim Military Maintenance Authority (iMMA).
- Possesses Certificate IV (or equivalent) qualification in Aircraft Structures with at least two years recent experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer specialising in structural work.
- Has completed the Apache Aircraft Familiarisation and Composite Specialist Course (or equivalents).
- Brings five or more years of military or commercial aircraft maintenance experience.
- Demonstrates solid knowledge of aviation Quality Assurance procedures and aircraft maintenance and modification documentation.
- Exhibits strong teamwork skills and the ability to maintain productive workplace relationships.
- Has working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety practices.
- Possesses knowledge of aircraft maintenance, modification, and planning documentation.
- Holds a valid Working at Heights qualification.
- Must be an Australian citizen due to defence security requirements.
