Position Overview

SAIC is seeking a skilled Air Battle Management (ABM) Operations Analyst to join the US Air Force COBRA program based at the US Air Forces Europe / Air Forces Africa Warfare Center in Kaiserslautern, Germany. This program supports the implementation and integration of Modeling and Simulation solutions to enhance multi-domain operations within the Joint All-Domain Command and Control strategy for the US Air Force, DoD, and allied partners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ABM expertise and support for a range of exercises, from large-scale force employment involving US, Joint, and Allied forces across air, land, sea, space, and cyber domains to smaller capability-focused events.
  • Develop, coordinate, and present air warfare briefings for diverse audiences including USAF, Joint Force, and Allied personnel; support academic training and lead discussions on air warfare topics.
  • Create realistic exercise scenarios based on comprehensive knowledge of US, Joint Force, Allied, and adversary systems and tactics, integrating these into training activities sponsored by UAWC.
  • Draft and manage critical exercise documentation such as Master Scenario Event Lists, Air Operations Directives, Air Tasking Orders, Airspace Control Plans and Orders, Area Air Defense Plans, Special Instructions, and mission execution materials.
  • Guide and facilitate the Joint Event Life Cycle by actively engaging in scenario creation, mission planning, briefing sessions, execution, debriefs, analysis, and after-action reporting.
  • Perform simulated ABM operations replicating command and control agencies during live, virtual, and constructive exercises, supporting missions that involve various fighter and defense tactics including Offensive and Defensive Counterair, Integrated Air and Missile Defense, Suppression of Enemy Air Defense, Close Air Support, Combat Search and Rescue, and dynamic targeting operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience as an ABM or rated equivalent with hands-on operational involvement in CRC, AWACS, C2ISR, and/or AOC roles, with recent operational experience within the past five years.
  • Prior assignment on command staffs such as AOC, JOC, NATO CAOC or equivalent managing operational C2 at the tactical or operational level.
  • At least 200 hours as an instructor or evaluator in relevant duties.
  • Demonstrated expert familiarity with USAF and Joint Force doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Joint Air Operations Planning or the Joint Operations Planning Process for Air at various command levels.
  • US Citizenship and an active Secret security clearance with eligibility to obtain Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree or nine years of relevant professional experience in lieu of formal education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recent AOC experience within five years.
  • Graduation from USAF C2 Warrior Advanced Course or equivalent.
  • Completion of USAF Weapons School or USMC Weapons Instructor Course.
  • Experience as mission crew commander on platforms such as AWACS, JSTARS, Rivet Joint, or CRC.
  • Proficient knowledge of NATO and USAF doctrines and tactics for Integrated Air and Missile Defense.
  • Familiarity with advanced systems including Next Generation Threat System, Modern Air Combat Environment, Air Warfare Simulation, and Battlespace Command and Control Center.
