Position Summary
Seeking an experienced AI Product Owner based in New York City to lead the integration of AI and intelligent automation into back-office financial operations. This full-time role requires a leader who focuses on delivering results rather than just produce documents, with a strong vision for transforming financial services workflows leveraging AI capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead rigorous discovery phases to clearly define problems, evaluate workflows, constraints, and set measurable goals, producing stakeholder-aligned plans.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap that balances transformative initiatives with operational continuity and near-term goals.
- Drive the embedding of AI, machine learning, and automation into financial operational workflows such as reconciliation, exception handling, controls monitoring, and evidence generation, augmenting human decision-making.
- Manage project delivery with disciplined milestone-setting, tracking dependencies, anticipating risks early, and maintaining transparency.
- Act as the link between business users, engineering teams, architects, data scientists, and leadership, communicating status, tradeoffs, and decisions effectively.
- Promote user adoption by building trust through open communication and guiding stakeholders towards improved agile practices.
- Own and prioritize the backlog translating requirements into clear epics and user stories with acceptance criteria based on value, risk, and effort.
- Effectively resolve conflicts and balance competing priorities to keep teams outcome-focused.
- Ensure quality, reliability, and compliance by delivering auditable, operable solutions with controlled rollouts.
- Model responsible AI usage by leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity while maintaining thorough validation and governance.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 7 years' experience in Product Owner, Product Manager, or Senior Business Analyst roles within financial services, specifically with back-office operations such as fund accounting, reconciliation, controller workflows, or treasury.
- Proven leadership of AI or intelligent automation initiatives that have significantly transformed operational processes via machine learning, natural language processing, or advanced analytics.
- Practical experience with fund accounting procedures, reconciliation platforms, NAV processes, general ledger controls, or operational controls at asset managers, hedge funds, or fund administrators.
- Strong execution skills in planning, budgeting, tracking, and delivering projects without creating excessive bureaucracy.
- Excellent stakeholder management capabilities across operations, finance, technology, and leadership groups.
- Advanced communication skills to render complex processes understandable and actionable.
- Ability to decompose complex challenges and drive decision-making amid incomplete information.
- Comfort collaborating closely with engineering and data science teams, understanding software development, AI model integration, and workflow embedding.
- High levels of integrity, transparency, and reliability, maintaining trust especially in challenging situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with systems such as Geneva, Arcesium, Investran, Kyriba, or comparable fund accounting, operations, and treasury platforms.
- Background in treasury, cash management, or investment operations transformations.
- Experience managing relationships and deliverable validations with external fund administrators.
- Familiarity with modern delivery environments including CI/CD pipelines, cloud services, event-driven architectures, workflow orchestration, and data platforms.
- A successful record leading transformational initiatives encompassing process, platform, or operating models while maintaining business engagement.
- Knowledge of AI/ML frameworks, LLM integration techniques, and intelligent automation platforms in the financial domain.
