About The Role
Mercor partners top-tier creative and technical experts with leading AI research organizations. Based in San Francisco, Mercor has backing from investors including Benchmark, General Catalyst, Peter Thiel, Adam D'Angelo, Larry Summers, and Jack Dorsey.
We are offering a contract role as a Senior Civil Legal Paralegal / Accredited Representative that allows fully remote work.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine AI-produced legal advice to ensure procedural correctness and thorough documentation.
- Assess accuracy of legal procedures related to housing, family law, consumer debt, and bankruptcy cases.
- Detect errors in filings and omissions in procedural steps to refine legal workflows.
- Deliver structured written critiques to enhance the practical application of AI-generated outputs.
- Manage tasks independently and asynchronously, adhering to deadlines and contributing to improvements in AI model performance.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience as a Senior Paralegal or an Accredited Representative.
- Strong expertise in civil legal procedures.
- Background supporting cases involving housing, family, consumer matters, or debt.
- Excellent skills in written communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in legal aid or nonprofit legal service environments.
- Familiarity with jurisdiction-specific filing processes.
- History of assisting underserved communities.
- Experience mentoring junior legal staff.
