Job description
Role Overview
We are inviting applications for the position of Accounts Receivable Supervisor to become a valuable part of our Finance Department in Accra, Ghana. This position focuses on managing receivables and ensuring efficient cash flow management within our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely collection of outstanding invoices, reduce overdue debts and enhance cash flow.
- Supervise collection efforts and support negotiations with customers who have past dues to control financial risks and improve recovery rates.
- Produce accurate reports detailing receivables, payments, account balances, and collection effectiveness to aid strategic company decisions.
- Recognize opportunities to improve processes and recommend procedural changes to increase operational efficiency and reinforce internal controls.
- Ensure strict adherence to corporate accounting standards and policies to maintain financial governance compliance.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships internally and with customers to support efficient account management and satisfaction.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Deep accounting expertise and meticulous attention to details for processing payments, statement preparation, journal entry posting, and account reconciliation in compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
- Proficient financial analysis and problem-solving skills to assess financial data, investigate discrepancies, analyze trends, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions and improvements.
- Effective communication abilities and customer service excellence for responding to client inquiries, supporting collection efforts, and conveying financial information clearly within the organization and externally.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage various tasks concurrently including purchase order management, reconciliations, reporting, and month-end closing while meeting deadlines.
- Competence in risk management and process enhancement to detect control gaps, evaluate risks, ensure compliance, and implement effective process improvements to boost efficiency and accuracy.
Education and Experience
- A college or university degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Intermediate professional experience relevant to the field is required, including some supervisory experience.
