About the Role
Based in West Dublin, this opportunity involves working for a reputable and expanding firm in the construction and property sector. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing the Accounts Payable operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and enhanced visibility through reporting, control measures, and ongoing process enhancements. Additionally, they will be responsible for overseeing the weekly payroll cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the Accounts Payable department.
- Accurately process supplier invoices and ensure they are promptly handled.
- Verify and match invoices against purchase orders or contracts.
- Assign correct coding to invoices by development site and nominal accounts.
- Review supplier account reconciliations and solve any discrepancies.
- Prepare and review payment runs effectively.
- Ensure all invoices receive approval as per company protocols.
- Address queries from suppliers and internal finance teams.
- Generate and analyze Accounts Payable reports, tracking key metrics such as outstanding invoices, aged creditors, and approval status; identify patterns and suggest improvements.
- Drive continuous improvements in AP processes and internal controls.
- Support month-end closing activities and financial reporting as needed.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, site managers, and internal stakeholders.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to junior AP team members.
- Manage end-to-end weekly payroll processing responsibilities.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of five years’ experience in Accounts Payable and payroll functions, including previous leadership or supervisory roles within a finance team or AP department.
- Prior experience in construction, engineering, property, or project-based sectors is highly beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent communication abilities.
- Capability to interact effectively with both internal teams and external partners.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
Compensation and Location
The position offers a basic salary range of €50,000 to €55,000 annually, supplemented with additional benefits. The role is based in West Dublin and is a full-time, permanent appointment.
