Software Development Engineering Internship (Web)

Internship Overview

This internship offers an opportunity to work with FreighAI, an AI-powered platform that significantly boosts operational capacity in freight forwarding and logistics by automating the majority of tasks while enhancing human decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Enhance and expand multi-agent AI workflows that manage real freight operations such as quoting, booking, tracking, document processing, and handling exceptions.
• Deliver new features using agentic coding technologies like Claude Code, focusing on coordinating AI agents and analyzing their outputs rather than manual coding alone.
• Develop and maintain components across a Python microservices backend and React.js frontends with MongoDB, ensuring clean APIs and responsive user interfaces.
• Optimize prompts, tools, memory, and retrieval layers including retrieval-augmented generation and vector search; assist with model selection tuning for performance and cost-effectiveness across large and small language models.
• Support ongoing production system stability by diagnosing agent failures, resolving regressions, improving evaluation metrics, observability, and safety guardrails.
• Assist integration efforts involving carrier and rate APIs, ERP systems, electronic data interchange (EDI), and data extraction pipelines for documents like bills of lading, invoices, and packing lists.

Candidate Eligibility

• Candidates must be available for a full-time, in-office internship in Pune starting between July 10 and August 14, 2026, for a period of 6 months.
• Applicants should possess relevant skills and interests related to software engineering and AI-centric technologies.
• Women interested in starting or resuming their careers are especially encouraged to apply.
• Both fresh graduates and computer science engineering students are welcomed.
• Minimum of one year hands-on experience working on real production engineering systems is required.
• Proficiency in Python, React.js, and MongoDB is essential; familiarity with Kotlin or Java is advantageous.
• Demonstrated experience with large language model applications involving tool use, agent orchestration, prompt engineering, and retrieval augmented generation using frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or MCP is expected.
• Fluency with agentic coding tools like Claude Code or similar platforms as a primary development workflow is necessary.
• Strong written and spoken English skills are mandatory to write clear technical specifications and coordinate effectively with AI agents.

Compensation and Benefits

• A monthly stipend ranging from ₹25,000 to ₹30,000 will be provided.
• Successful candidates may receive a full-time job offer with an anticipated annual salary between ₹400,000 and ₹600,000 upon conversion.
