Role overview
In this position, you will serve as the link between business stakeholders and technical teams, resolving complex integration and system challenges across Workday. You will support clients through the transformation, implementation, and operational stages of a Workday rollout, using strong technical ability to tailor the project to business and design needs.
Core responsibilities
- Build deep expertise in Workday, including solution design, configuration, testing, and implementation.
- Suggest practical solutions aligned to the client’s needs, budget, and delivery timeline, while staying flexible as priorities evolve.
- Monitor project issues and risks, share progress updates, and escalate concerns when needed across all accounts in your portfolio.
- Lead facilitated design workshops and help make configuration decisions using Workday best practices and a clear understanding of the client’s business processes.
- Support clients throughout every project stage and help ensure a smooth transition from legacy platforms to Workday HCM.
- Handle multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision and keep the client, project team, and Engagement Manager informed of any changes or progress.
- Be prepared to take on a leadership role on a project, or serve as a Cognizant or Workday product Partner Lead and/or Delivery Assurance Reviewer.
- Work directly with the system, including loading client data, migrating configuration between tenants, and setting up business processes and security.
- Use strong technical skills to transform and map data sources into conversion templates through iLoads.
- Mentor other consultants and analysts, including supporting shadowing assignments.
- Take part in update training and contribute knowledge-sharing across the organization.
Experience and education
A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification is required. The role strongly prefers candidates with at least 2 years of Workday functional implementation experience, along with 2 to 5 years of experience in HR, payroll, or financial software. Prior work implementing functional solutions in ERP or SaaS environments over 2 to 5 years is also highly valued. You should have experience gathering business requirements, creating designs and prototypes, testing solutions, and delivering practical outcomes under multiple deadlines.
