About the role
This position is for a remote web research professional who is comfortable digging through online sources, checking facts, structuring information, and turning raw findings into useful business inputs. The role suits someone who is detail-focused, analytical, and able to support data-led decisions through accurate research work.
You will handle broad internet-based research, gather and validate business data, observe market and industry movements, and keep research records organized and up to date. The work involves supporting teams across operations, sales, marketing, product, and business intelligence by supplying dependable information for prospecting, competitor analysis, and market intelligence.
A strong sense of accuracy, clear communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving remote setup are essential. The role also offers exposure to modern research tools, information validation methods, and business intelligence workflows.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out detailed online research using search engines, company websites, public records, industry databases, and other trusted sources.
- Collect, organize, and maintain information on companies, industries, products, markets, and business contacts.
- Research company profiles, leadership details, financial data, industry categories, and organizational structures.
- Find relevant information that can support lead generation, prospecting, and business development efforts.
- Store research outputs in spreadsheets, databases, and internal tools in a structured way.
- Make sure all data is complete, current, properly documented, and accurate.
- Check facts by comparing information across multiple reliable sources.
- Confirm contact details, business records, and company information before use.
- Spot duplicate, stale, or inconsistent entries and suggest corrections.
- Run regular quality checks to keep research standards high.
- Follow internal research and quality assurance rules at all times.
- Escalate unclear or conflicting information when additional review is needed.
- Track market changes, industry updates, and competitor activity.
- Study competitor offerings, pricing, positioning, and customer signals.
- Summarize market opportunities and key findings for internal stakeholders.
- Monitor news, announcements, partnerships, acquisitions, and product launches relevant to the industry.
- Support strategic planning with market intelligence and benchmarking insights.
- Work with sales teams to help identify and qualify leads.
- Coordinate with marketing teams to provide audience and market insights.
- Partner with product and business intelligence teams to collect industry and customer information.
- Communicate findings through reports, documentation, and presentations.
- Join team discussions, planning sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Respond to ad hoc research requests from different stakeholders.
- Maintain organized records, research logs, and databases.
- Prepare summaries, dashboards, reports, and presentations based on findings.
- Document research methods, source lists, and verification steps.

Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience in web research, market research, business research, data research, lead generation, or a similar area.
- Strong ability to search for, assess, and gather information online.
- Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

- Experience using search engines, online databases, directories, and public information sources.
- Comfort with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Microsoft Word, and Google Workspace.

- Capacity to work independently while handling several priorities in a remote setting.
