Opportunity Overview

Step into the role of Wastewater Team Leader in Taupō, where you will collaborate closely with the Supervisor to maintain the wastewater network's safe and efficient operation. This position is hands-on and pivotal for coordinating daily field activities, guiding crews through both reactive and scheduled maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize daily work schedules and assign resources to field crews ensuring seamless operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues such as network blockages, overflows, pump station faults, and carry out routine maintenance.
  • Lead and mentor team members to uphold high standards of asset maintenance.
  • Support comprehensive reporting and administrative duties linked to field operations.
  • Ensure all tasks comply with health, safety, environmental standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, responding promptly to after-hours and weekend emergencies.

Candidate Profile

  • Proficient understanding of wastewater systems and infrastructure.
  • Experience in leadership or coordination roles within field crews.
  • Ability to plan effectively and juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic work setting.
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude especially in reactive scenarios.
  • Excellent communication skills complemented by solid reporting and administrative capabilities.
  • Dedication to safe working methods and environmental compliance adherence.
  • Possession of a full Class 1 driver's licence.
  • Industry certification at Level 3; higher Level 4 qualification or extensive professional experience is highly regarded.
  • Holding Class 2 and WTR endorsements is beneficial.
