About Finning and the Role
Finning Canada is hiring for two permanent Warranty Technicians based in Alberta or British Columbia. This role operates Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, totaling 40 hours per week, with a salary range from $75,000 to $102,700 plus bonus and benefits from day one.
Role Responsibilities
- Evaluate equipment warranty coverage to decide claim eligibility.
- Examine service work orders and repair documentation for compliance with warranty standards.
- Prepare, submit, and monitor warranty and goodwill claims with manufacturers and suppliers.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in warranty registrations.
- Serve as a liaison between service teams, suppliers, and manufacturers concerning warranty issues.
- Provide support and guidance to branch staff on warranty procedures and claim requirements.
- Assist in implementing new warranty processes and best practices.
- Ensure qualifying repair costs are appropriately assigned to warranty or policy accounts.
- Return incorrect charges for adjustment when necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in warranty management, service operations, equipment maintenance, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of technical failure analysis and repair documentation.
- High accuracy in auditing records and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle heavy workloads and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Problem-solving skills with strong analytical thinking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Preferred Background
- Experience with heavy machinery, construction or mining equipment industries.
- Understanding of warranty claim processes and manufacturer programs.
- Familiarity with service department operations and work order systems.
- Mechanical aptitude and product knowledge related to equipment.
