VP/ED, Client Coverage Banker - TMT Sector

Job Purpose and Objectives

• Support the Client Coverage teams for Southeast Asia (SEA) and India in identifying and developing business prospects with clients primarily within the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) sector across these regions including BBVA's global footprint countries.
• Assist in growing the TMT corporate client base, enhancing relationships with current clients, and engaging new corporate clients.
• Drive the bank's revenue and profitability by initiating cross-selling activities both regionally and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the SEAI Coverage Head to expand the TMT corporate portfolio aiming to meet business targets while ensuring excellent client service and maintaining strong credit standards.
• Manage and oversee a portfolio of SEA and India clients focusing on TMT, offering tailored banking solutions including cross-selling corporate products to optimize profitability and portfolio quality.
• Establish and nurture enduring relationships with Corporate Banking customers; proactively identify business opportunities to support growth and achieve revenue goals.
• Coordinate efforts with the TMT Sector Head, Global Sector Teams, and various business units throughout BBVA footprint countries to facilitate client expansion.
• Deliver comprehensive underwriting assessments grounded in sound judgement aligned with bank policies.
• Develop business proposals, devise account strategies with income forecasts, and leverage cross-selling to enhance client returns.
• Maintain consistent communication with clients for daily service and ongoing account supervision.
• Work closely with product and risk teams to strategize client growth plans.
• Coordinate with legal and compliance departments to finalize documentation and perform KYC processes.
• Prepare detailed internal reports to aid strategic planning and management decisions.

Job Specifications

• Possess a university degree in business, finance, economics or a related discipline; a master’s degree is advantageous.
• Client coverage experience focusing on the TMT sector within Southeast Asia is preferred.
• Demonstrate broad general knowledge with high adaptability, meticulous attention to detail, strong logical and critical thinking, and a sharp analytical mindset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Exhibit proactivity along with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Fluent written and spoken English is required; proficiency in Mandarin and/or other Southeast Asian languages such as Thai or Bahasa Indonesia is beneficial.
• Spanish language skills are an added advantage.
• Ability to perform well under pressure, work collaboratively as part of a team, and display dynamism, innovation, forward-thinking, and a customer-focused approach.
