About the Role and Organization
This fully remote leadership position requires residency within accessible distance of Seattle or Tacoma, Washington to facilitate in-person engagement and program activities. FourBlock is dedicated to empowering transitioning service members and veterans by equipping them with career readiness skills, valuable professional networks, and employer connections to build meaningful careers beyond military service.

Position Overview
The Vice President of Programs leads the strategic direction, quality, and effectiveness of FourBlock's signature Career Readiness Programs across the West Region. This senior leadership role reports to the Chief Programs and Impact Officer and oversees six cohorts in multiple states including Washington, Colorado, and Texas, combining in-person and virtual delivery methods.
Operating within a compact, agile team, this hands-on role demands self-direction, technological proficiency, and adaptability, with preference for candidates who have personal experience as a participant, coach, or instructor in FourBlock’s programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent FourBlock at various conferences and veteran-centered events locally and nationally.
- Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with corporate entities and community organizations.
- Contribute senior-level insights to program strategy and development.
- Lead continuous enhancement of Career Readiness courses and supervise instructors to ensure impactful delivery.
- Standardize program execution through structured planning and quality assurance to maintain regional consistency.
- Attend critical program events such as sessions, orientations, and graduations to maintain connectivity.
- Use Salesforce and related systems to monitor participant progress and ensure timely course completion weekly.
- Foster relationships with employer partners, ensuring alignment and gathering feedback for partnership growth.
- Synchronize planning rhythms aligning all stakeholders including instructors, coaches, participants, and employers.
- Provide tailored support to participants facing challenges to maintain engagement and completion rates.
- Engage actively with student cohorts through digital platforms and deliver continuous, actionable feedback.
- Perform post-session outreach to employer hosts, collect feedback, and distribute acknowledgments.
- Analyze feedback from students to collaboratively refine course delivery after each term.
- Document weekly highlights to assist marketing and storytelling efforts.
- Ensure full enrollment and retention of 35-50 qualified students per cohort term.
- Collaborate to build and manage recruitment pipelines from educational institutions, military bases, and veteran organizations.
- Recruit, screen, and onboard Career Readiness Coaches maintaining a coach-to-student ratio of 1:3.
- Manage instructor recruitment and onboarding as program demands require.
- Maintain accurate and current student data in Salesforce and coordinate alumni tracking.
- Lead post-term program reviews to improve curriculum and experience continuously.
- Partner with operations leadership to analyze program data for ongoing quality improvement.
- Ensure swift alumni status update post-program within two weeks.
Success Metrics
- Achieve over 80% course completion and alumni conversion rates.
- Meet enrollment targets across every cohort.
- Attain a minimum 80% Net Promoter Score indicating participant satisfaction.
- Maintain full onboarding and support of instructors and coaches.
- Ensure 90% accuracy in program data reporting.
Candidate Profile
- Preferred candidates have a background as FourBlock alumni, coaches, or instructors.
- At least 7 years of experience in program management, nonprofit leadership, or workforce development.
- Experience engaging with veteran or military-affiliated communities is highly desirable.
- Successful leadership of distributed teams is essential.
- Deep knowledge of adult education, curriculum design, and evaluation methodologies.
- Comfortable operating in a lean, technology-enabled environment with proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM, HubSpot, Microsoft Office, Zoom, and social media platforms.
- Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills.
- A Bachelor's degree is mandatory; a Master's degree is preferred.

Additional Details
This is a full-time commitment of 40+ hours per week requiring occasional evening and weekend work. Regular travel out of state to Colorado and San Antonio is expected to support cohort operations there.
Compensation ranges from $90,000 to $100,000 annually, dependent on experience and qualifications.
Benefits include a 401(k) plan with employer match up to 3%, a Qualified Small Employer Health Reimbursement Account of $5,500 per year, a remote work stipend of $1,000 annually, flexible working hours, and paid leave including 15 vacation days, 6 sick days, 4 personal days, plus 13 federal holidays.
