Role and Impact
We are currently expanding our partnership model and inviting applications for the position of Venture Development Manager (m/f/d). In this pivotal role, you will drive the growth of our partner craft businesses (such as electrical, photovoltaic, SHK, roofing sectors) by enhancing their commercial and administrative operations. Your responsibilities will blend commercial strategy, marketing experiments, and operational execution, enabling these trades entrepreneurs to scale sustainably. This position requires combining operational, marketing, and technological efforts to optimize partner success and thus expand Smalt's revenue share model.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate onboarding and provide coaching to new Meister partners during their initial engagement with Smalt.
- Manage and optimize critical operational processes including offers, invoicing, documentation, and workforce planning.
- Evaluate partner performance metrics and develop strategic interventions to boost conversion rates, operational efficiency, and overall growth.
- Develop and implement automated scalable workflows leveraging tools such as Attio, Make, and Smalt’s proprietary AI stack.
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Operations, and Growth teams to enhance the partner’s user experience.
- Convert field insights into actionable product requirements and data models to advance Smalt’s AI capabilities.
Candidate Profile
Professional Experience & Skills
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in technology, operations, consulting, or venture capital, preferably with exposure to SaaS, field operations, or vertical software sectors.
- Strong analytical acumen with a structural approach to system building and documentation.
- Proactive entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take ownership and work closely with partners.
- Fluency in German and English, capable of effective communication with Meister craftsmen and business owners.
- Comfortable using customer relationship management tools and automation platforms such as Attio, Notion, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Make, Zapier, or n8n.
- Additional advantage for candidates with field or technical knowledge in electrical, photovoltaic, or SHK trades.
- Preference for Berlin-based candidates with availability for hybrid work and occasional travel across Germany.
