Position Overview
We are looking for a passionate retail professional for a full-time, contract Total Rewards Partner role available remotely. The contract term extends until June 25, 2027. Although this position is fully remote, occasional quarterly visits to our Ottawa, Ontario headquarters for team meetings will be expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage compensation programs collaboratively, including the annual Giant Tiger Warehouse pay cycle, operating and management salary increases, and store bonuses, ensuring accuracy and improving operational efficiencies.
- Prepare, execute, and project minimum wage adjustments to maintain compliance with provincial wage laws across store locations.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for Workday Total Rewards modules, translating business requirements into technical specifications, leading configuration testing, and resolving system issues.
- Evaluate job roles to verify proper classification and benchmarking aligned with internal and market standards.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to recommend salary offers for candidates consistent with internal pay equity and external market competitiveness.
- Maintain data integrity and audit readiness through regular reviews, spotting inaccuracies, and implementing effective controls for compliance during audits.
- Oversee employee recognition programs by tracking spend, promoting equitable practices, and enabling leaders with resources to facilitate meaningful recognition.
- Develop comprehensive training materials on compensation to enhance organizational understanding and capability in total rewards.
Candidate Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Business or Human Resources.
- Three to five years of relevant experience in compensation and/or recognition programs.
- At least two years utilizing Workday for activities including EIB loading, configuration testing, and data auditing.
- Detail-oriented and able to handle confidential information in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
- Strong prioritization skills to effectively manage multiple competing tasks.
- Intermediate knowledge of Canadian provincial employment legislation, especially regarding pay equity and pay transparency.
- Excellent analytical ability to process and simplify complex data into actionable insights.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel functions such as vlookups and pivot tables.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English is an asset.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position ranges from $66,000 to $99,000, with consideration given to experience, skills, and internal equity to ensure competitive pay.

Location and Other Information
The role is based in Ottawa, Ontario, but operates fully remotely with required occasional on-site team meetings.
