Role Overview
Positioned in Wellington, the Territory Manager will oversee a specific region’s accounts, conducting on-site evaluations and training focused on food safety and brand protection. The role involves assessing food safety protocols, customer and employee safety, service quality, and cleanliness in various retail food environments. The data collected will feed into detailed, customized reports for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform visits to supermarkets and retail food sites to assess and enhance food safety, hygiene, and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct regular audit inspections, typically monthly or quarterly, to monitor standards.
- Identify potential risks or areas needing improvement and coach store personnel on food safety best practices.
- Develop strong collaborative relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to store managers by providing practical guidance and sharing audit outcomes.
- Work closely with internal account teams to resolve client concerns and maintain accurate reporting and records following each visit.
- Manage daily schedules and travel routes independently while ensuring maintenance and installation of cleaning and sanitation equipment as necessary.
- Travel overnight when required, generally about five nights per month, servicing locations across Wellington and nearby areas.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in foodservice, grocery retail, or hospitality industries is preferred.
- Essential food safety expertise and experience are required for this position.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the aptitude to engage effectively with customers at various levels, including senior management.
- Strong coaching and relationship management abilities to provide constructive feedback tactfully and build trusted advisor relationships.
