Role Overview
This newly created Technology Partner Manager position is a strategic and commercially focused role designed to develop and elevate Contact Energy's technology partner management capabilities. The role emphasizes enhancing vendor governance, commercial discipline, and performance to maximize value from technology investments across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and advance Contact's technology partner management capabilities within a growing vendor ecosystem.
- Lead strategic partnership development by collaborating closely with technology leaders, finance, procurement, and key stakeholders.
- Implement and improve governance frameworks to ensure strategic alignment of vendors and partners with business and technology objectives.
- Enhance vendor performance by driving improvements in quality, speed, cost efficiency, and risk management.
- Support commercial activities including planning, modeling, request for proposal (RFP) processes, supplier risk management, and performance reviews.
- Advise on capital expenditure (capex) and operational expenditure (opex) planning, financial metrics, and asset management to enable efficient delivery and operations.
- Communicate technology strategies, roadmap updates, technical needs, and performance expectations to partners, vendors, and internal teams.
- Provide insights on vendor capabilities, dependencies, risks, opportunities, benefits, and impacts of changes.
- Act as a trusted advisor and coach to enhance commercial and vendor management expertise across technology teams.
- Identify opportunities to streamline systems, optimize processes, improve financial outcomes, and mitigate risks.
- Contribute to overall team performance and support technology and business transformation initiatives.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate brings over 10 years of experience in strategic partner relationship management or related fields such as technology commercial management, managed services, systems integration, service delivery, technical sales, or account management. They must possess a strong combination of technological understanding, commercial acumen, and relationship leadership.
Key attributes include:
- Experience managing vendor or partner performance, commercial relationships, supplier risk, RFPs, and strategic technology services.
- Proficiency in commercial planning including business cases, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cost/value optimization.
- Familiarity with capex and opex planning.
- Ability to operate effectively within cross-functional technology and business transformation environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a pragmatic approach.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating strategic and commercial positions across all organizational levels.
- A relevant degree or professional qualification in commerce, finance, engineering, management, or related disciplines.
