Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a Technical Systems Analyst to oversee and enhance our digital platforms. This role involves supporting users, identifying inefficiencies or issues, and implementing lasting improvements. You'll engage deeply with actual business systems, collaborate with users, and deliver effective solutions.

A key focus is evaluating and applying AI and automation where they bring true benefit. The position requires working closely with multiple teams including business units, IT, and external vendors to understand the entire ecosystem rather than isolated segments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate and implement system enhancements that improve performance, user satisfaction, and contribute to business goals.
  • Manage configuration, support, and optimization of digital platforms ensuring reliability and smooth operation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments and external providers to align technology efforts with organizational objectives.
  • Analyze and redesign workflows with an emphasis on integrating AI and automation to streamline processes.
  • Communicate updates effectively, conduct user training, and ensure new features or improvements are adopted successfully.
  • Balance routine operational support with strategic projects, focusing on measurable impact and value.

Location and Work Schedule

This position is based at the Smith&Smith Support Office, 1 Carmont Place, Mount Wellington, Auckland. The role requires a 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday.

Candidate Profile

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a technology-related role.
  • Strong ability to understand how business systems function and improve their effectiveness.
  • Practical experience applying AI and automation solutions to reduce manual processes.
  • Skilled in process mapping and workflow analysis, able to envision improved processes.
  • Experience managing diverse stakeholders, vendors, and balancing competing urgent priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical details into business-relevant terms.
  • Degree in IT, Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft technology stack (Azure, Power Platform, Dynamics) is preferred.
