Role Overview

Located in Bristol, the Technical Director will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Technical Department within the South-West region. This executive role covers strategic planning, oversight of technical processes related to land development, and the nurturing of a high-performance team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide and support the technical function at a regional scale, focusing on strategic initiatives and technical problem-solving.
• Establish and develop a competent, motivated, and well-reputed technical team, encouraging continuous learning and a strong workplace ethos.
• Inspire creativity, innovation, and commercial awareness within the team, ensuring alignment with both company goals and industry best practices.
• Oversee all aspects of design and engineering, ensuring high-quality standards are met throughout the development process.
• Contribute technical and planning expertise to the evaluation and due diligence of new land acquisition and development prospects.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in a comparable role, ideally within a volume housebuilding or construction environment.
• Strong understanding of current and emerging technical regulations and best practices; ability to effectively interpret and communicate changes and their impacts across the business.
• Exceptional vision, leadership, and organizational skills, with the capability to manage shifting priorities and set clear, actionable goals.
• Ability to provide precise and direct instructions, establishing unambiguous objectives for the technical team.
