About the Role

Join Datacom as a Systems Engineer where you will drive innovation by identifying, creating, and implementing advanced tech solutions that address real challenges faced by clients. Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive Level 2 and Level 3 IT support across diverse technologies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues involving Windows Server, networking, Azure, Microsoft 365, and security tools.
  • Provide on-call after-hours support as part of a rotational roster.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients ensuring seamless and professional support delivery.
  • Assess clients’ business requirements to help guide strategic IT planning.
  • Proactively manage customer infrastructure including maintaining technical documentation.
  • Advise and assist in the design and deployment of high-quality technical solutions and projects.
  • Identify opportunities for continual improvement to foster a culture of service excellence and innovate workflows.

Requirements

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong skills in building and managing customer relationships.
  • Capability to manage budgets, schedules, work plans, and meet performance standards.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills for technical topics at various levels.
  • Technical expertise in Microsoft 365, including identity management tools like AzureAD, AD Connect, ADFS, Microsoft Identity Manager.
  • Familiarity with Office 365 collaboration tools (Teams, Planner, Groups, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online).
  • Experience with collaboration and video conferencing tools such as Teams, Poly, Neat, Zoom.
  • Knowledge of competitor platforms similar to the above IT solutions.
  • Experience with email security and archiving solutions including Office 365 ATP/EOP, Datto, Avepoint.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SCCM and Intune for platform maintenance, security configuration, patch management, lifecycle updates, and deployments.
  • Broad knowledge of Microsoft Server OS, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, ADFS, DHCP, DFS, virtualization technologies such as VMware, Azure, AWS.
  • Competence in networking components including DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and routing.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure infrastructure (VMs, virtual networking, Azure AD, WVD, PaaS).
  • Experience with Windows 11, Mac OS, antivirus software, backup tools, security and endpoint protection solutions.
  • Applicants must be citizens or residents of New Zealand due to security requirements.
