Tax Policy Manager

About the Role

EY is currently seeking an experienced Manager to join its Tax Policy team within the International Tax & Transaction Services (ITTS) practice in Doha, Qatar. This position involves supporting governments and policymakers in enhancing tax policy frameworks and contributing to business growth by managing complex engagements.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on strategic development of tax policies by analyzing best practices and global regulatory trends.
• Assist tax and revenue agencies in effective implementation of tax frameworks and revenue policies.
• Provide support to governments in their participation and strategy development related to international tax initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including legal, finance, economics, and public policy experts, to develop comprehensive solutions.
• Convey insights clearly and persuasively through presentations and reports.

Required Skills and Experience

• A degree in economics, finance, tax, or accounting.
• Minimum of five years' experience in tax-related roles, preferably including work within a Big Four accounting firm or relevant government or international organizations.
• Strong understanding of both domestic and international tax laws and tax authority practices.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and engage with senior-level stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in drafting detailed technical memos and policy documents.

Additional Desired Expertise

• Experience liaising with tax authorities, regulators, and industry groups.
• Knowledge of OECD BEPS initiatives, including Pillar One and Two, and global minimum tax standards.
• Experience advising multinational corporations in a client-facing capacity.
