Company Overview
Nabis stands as the leading licensed cannabis wholesale platform worldwide, distributing over $1 billion worth of cannabis products annually from numerous brands to retailers in California, New York, and Nevada. The company’s mission centers on empowering global cannabis discovery by providing choice, accessibility, and innovative solutions backed by scalable modern infrastructure.
Role Summary
We are recruiting a Talent Acquisition Manager to oversee end-to-end recruitment for specific business sectors while developing scalable hiring processes as Nabis continues to grow. This role demands collaborating closely with hiring managers, managing a heavy requisition workflow, and implementing structured approaches to sourcing, assessing, and hiring candidates for both corporate and operations vacancies across regulated cannabis markets.
In this dynamic player-coach position, you will manage your own recruitment load alongside guiding a small team of recruiters. You thrive in fast-evolving environments, taking ownership of hiring targets and refining hiring processes. In addition, you will handle pre-hire compliance issues such as state-specific permits and cannabis agent badging, factors that influence candidates’ onboarding timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complete recruitment cycles for 15 to 25+ simultaneous openings spanning corporate functions and operational roles.
- Provide leadership, daily management, coaching, and performance guidance to a small recruiting team.
- Develop active sourcing strategies and candidate pipelines, emphasizing leadership and hard-to-fill positions through direct outreach including LinkedIn Recruiter.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to establish role requirements, interview frameworks, and candidate evaluation criteria.
- Take ownership of recruitment service level agreements and time-to-fill benchmarks relevant to your requisition portfolio.
- Champion offer closure processes, working alongside hiring managers and People operations to position compensation and address candidate concerns.
- Support large-scale hourly recruitment for distributed warehouse and fleet locations, including managing state work permits and agent badge requirements.
- Maintain and enhance applicant tracking system workflows (Greenhouse), including knockout questions, application forms, scoring tools, and rejection reasons to ensure pipeline clarity.
- Ensure an excellent end-to-end candidate experience with consistent communication and offer negotiations.
- Maintain meticulous data upkeep on candidate dispositions and funnel metrics, regularly reporting on pipeline health, hiring timelines, and conversion statistics to leadership.
- Oversee recruiting technology and channel expenditures, aligning investments with hiring results.
- Ensure compliance with multi-state employment laws such as the Fair Chance Act and state-specific application mandates.
- Identify process inefficiencies and design scalable standard operating procedures, templates, and tools to support team growth.
Qualifications and Experience
- Over 7 years of experience managing full-cycle recruitment, including at least 2 years supervising recruiters or coordinators, preferably dealing with high-volume and multi-state hiring.
- Experience in startup environments or high-growth companies, embracing ambiguity and evolving priorities.
- Proficient and hands-on experience with Greenhouse ATS, capable of configuring workflows, question sets, scoring rubrics, and analytical reports.
- A proactive, solution-driven mindset enthusiastically tackling process optimizations alongside hands-on recruitment activities.
- Proven ability to identify gaps and implement new standard operating procedures, templates, and systems.
- Experienced recruiting across both corporate and hourly operational roles.
- Highly skilled in data management, building recruitment trackers, analyzing funnel metrics, and delivering robust reports to leadership.
- Exceptional stakeholder communication skills, comfortable collaborating with senior leaders and hiring managers.
- Flexible and willing to undertake diverse responsibilities including recruiting, coordination, reporting, and occasional People Ops support.
- Prior experience navigating regulated industries' pre-employment protocols (e.g., cannabis, healthcare, gaming, or DOT-regulated transportation) is a significant advantage.
- Knowledge of multi-state employment compliance requirements is beneficial.
- Experience within the cannabis industry, startups, or distribution/logistics sectors is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual base salary of $130,000.
- Unlimited paid time off and recognized holidays.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance available to all full-time employees.
- 401(k) retirement plan with matching contributions.
