About the company
8Fleet is a fast-scaling technology and logistics startup based in Los Angeles that is developing the operational backbone for today’s non-autonomous rideshare fleets and the autonomous fleets of the future. The company is expanding quickly and is looking for a motivated Talent Acquisition Lead to grow alongside the business.
Role overview
This is a strategic, hands-on hiring leadership role focused on designing and scaling a strong corporate recruiting function for the company’s next growth phase. You’ll create a proactive, data-informed talent acquisition engine that brings in exceptional people, builds the employer brand, and establishes durable hiring pipelines and processes across the organization.
At the start, you will operate as the sole Talent Acquisition resource, owning full-cycle recruiting across the business while laying the groundwork for a scalable function. The position calls for someone who can pair big-picture thinking with direct execution, managing both high-volume hiring and specialized, difficult searches while building modern sourcing methods and market-specific recruiting approaches.
You’ll work closely with leadership to help position the company as an employer of choice and deliver strong talent across high-impact areas such as Engineering, Product, Technology, and other core functions.
Location and work setup
This role is based in Culver City and is onsite, with some hybrid flexibility available.
Key responsibilities
- Design and run the talent acquisition strategy to support growth plans and workforce needs.
- Help build and expand the recruiting function, with the opportunity to hire and manage a team as the company grows.
- Work with business leaders to anticipate hiring demand and align recruiting support with company goals.
- Develop active and passive candidate pipelines for immediate and future openings.
- Create focused sourcing plans for priority technical roles, especially in Engineering, Product, and Technology.
- Lead employer-brand initiatives that strengthen the company’s position in the talent market.
- Improve candidate attraction, engagement, and overall candidate experience through targeted programs.
- Support hiring strategies for new markets and broader business expansion efforts.
- Build and oversee university recruiting, internship, and early-career hiring programs.
- Use recruiting tools, market insights, and workforce data to improve hiring performance.
- Set up metrics and reporting that support efficiency, hiring quality, and ongoing process improvement.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of progressive talent acquisition experience in a startup or similarly fast-moving environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale recruiting functions in high-growth organizations.
- Direct ownership of end-to-end recruiting and sourcing across both technical and business teams.
- Strong track record of hiring for critical technical and business roles, including Engineering, Product, and Technology.
- Experience creating employer branding and talent marketing initiatives.
- Proven success building proactive sourcing programs and long-term passive candidate pipelines.
- Background in leading recruiting teams and improving processes through recruiting technology.
- Preferred: experience supporting multi-market or geographic expansion.
- Preferred: experience creating university recruiting and early-career hiring programs.
- Preferred: experience using AI, automation, and advanced recruiting tools.
- Preferred: experience in technology, operations, product-led, or innovation-focused environments.
