Role Overview

For the XIAO restaurant in Gelsenkirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia, a full-time Sushi Chef is needed as soon as possible. The position focuses on creating high-quality sushi offerings, maintaining consistent standards, and bringing fresh ideas to the Japanese cuisine concept.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute creative ideas inspired by current food trends in Japanese cuisine and help further develop the sushi buffet with innovative concepts.
Prepare sushi independently while handling premium fish and other ingredients carefully to ensure consistently excellent quality.
Manage the setup and closing tasks for the workstation and make sure all quality standards are followed.
Plan food preparation efficiently and work in a cost-conscious manner.
Clean kitchen equipment in line with hygiene rules and food safety requirements, including HACCP standards.

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant brings many years of experience as a sushi cook, combines a modern and trend-aware approach to Japanese cuisine, and works with precision, creativity, and strong manual skill. The role also requires a structured way of working, a high sense of responsibility, strong quality awareness, good teamwork, and a neat, well-groomed appearance. Knowledge of HACCP-compliant practices is essential.
