About the Role
Join Infinitesima as a Supply Chain and Logistics Manager based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, with a competitive salary range of £48,000 to £58,000 per year, along with private health benefits, an annual bonus, and an EMI scheme. This full-time onsite role offers the chance to lead and optimize the flow of materials, components, and information throughout our global supply chain, supporting cutting-edge nanometrology technology development.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee comprehensive supply chain and logistics operations including supplier coordination, production, and customer delivery.
- Review material requirements planning (MRP) outputs, supplier schedules, inventory, and manage shortages effectively.
- Identify and mitigate supply risks promptly to maintain uninterrupted operations.
- Maintain accurate forecasting, material planning, and delivery tracking.
- Communicate supply chain status, constraints, and risks clearly with stakeholders.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance supply chain efficiency.
- Negotiate supplier pricing, lead times, payment terms, and commercial contracts.
- Conduct supplier performance monitoring, manage escalations, and drive corrective actions.
- Coordinate supplier audits and engagement in development and improvement initiatives.
- Create strategies for alternative sourcing to reduce risks and boost supply resilience.
- Collaborate with Quality and Engineering departments to resolve supplier issues.
- Manage stock levels, reorder points, and inventory strategies aligning with production priorities and working capital goals.
- Ensure integrity and accuracy of ERP and MRP system data related to inventory and supply.
- Coordinate domestic and international logistics, ensuring compliance with import/export regulations, customs, and freight requirements.
- Work with freight providers to optimize shipment performance and resolve delivery problems swiftly.
- Support new product introductions and scaling operations through supply chain leadership.
- Lead supply chain escalations and implement recovery plans as needed.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs and lead times and to enhance overall operational performance.
Candidate Profile
- At least five years of relevant experience in supply chain, procurement, materials management, or logistics within engineering or manufacturing sectors.
- Strong understanding of MRP, production planning, inventory control, and purchasing processes.
- Proficiency with ERP or MRP systems for managing material demand and supply chains.
- Proven track record of supplier management and commercial negotiations.
- Experience managing both domestic and international logistics operations.
- Excellent analytical skills to utilize data effectively for decision-making.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities calmly and efficiently under pressure.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A practical, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Background in semiconductor, scientific instrumentation, electronics, aerospace, or other advanced manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of international trade compliance, customs, and import/export regulations.
- Experience with supplier audits and development programs.
- Familiarity with new product introduction and manufacturing scale-up processes.
- Understanding of quality systems and engineering change management.
- Previous experience in team leadership or management roles.
- Professional certifications such as CIPS or CILT.
