Role Overview

We invite applications for a temporary part-time position as Student Engagement Officer within our English Language and Migrant Education Faculty in Brisbane. This role requires visiting multiple campuses to ensure tailored support and effective coordination for AMEP/SEE clients, reporting directly to the Educational Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion and model TAFE Queensland’s core values to support ongoing transformative and cultural change.
  • Lead and exemplify best practices in health, safety, and environmental management to sustain a safe working culture across Brisbane campuses.
  • Conduct initial assessments to guide clients’ academic pathways using set methodologies and provide ongoing advice and placement support aligned with clients' requirements.
  • Deliver pathway guidance including addressing evolving client needs, service referrals, skills recognition, attendance monitoring, progress tracking, and exit interviews.
  • Foster and maintain strong, professional partnerships with contract partners and stakeholders to continuously enhance support services.
  • Engage in outreach and promotional activities with internal and external networks to boost awareness and service uptake.
  • Contribute to organisational quality standards by encouraging excellence and supporting quality documentation systems.

Candidate Profile and Assessment

  • Demonstrated familiarity with adult education and training delivery, especially ESL service strategies catering to diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of AMEP/SEE standards essential for this role.
  • Strong organisational capabilities with analytical, conceptual, and creative problem-solving to meet client needs.
  • Proven collaborative skills working with diverse internal and external stakeholders and multicultural groups.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage priorities effectively, and adeptness with software tools such as word processors, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Excellent interpersonal, liaison, and communications skills for effective stakeholder engagement and relationship management.

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience

  • Postgraduate TESOL qualification recognised in the field.
  • An undergraduate degree, preferably in Education.
  • Recent experience teaching English to adult learners within Australia.
  • Possession of one of the following training and assessment credentials: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116, or TAE40110 plus specific units), Diploma of Vocational Education and Training, Diploma of Training Design and Development or equivalent higher qualifications in adult education recognised by TAFE Queensland.

Employment Details and Benefits

This appointment is a temporary part-time position until 25 September 2026 or as otherwise determined. The annual salary ranges from $83,508.68 to $90,968.12 gross, with an additional 12.75% superannuation.
