Job description
Position Overview
Join Rheinmetall Defence Australia's paint team as a Spray Painter, contributing significantly to the production of military vehicles and components. Reporting to the Team Lead - Paint, you will collaborate within a broader production environment that includes various specialist shops such as Weld, Prototype, Assembly, and Armour.
Work Schedule
The company is hiring several skilled industrial painters throughout 2026 and beyond, focusing on afternoon shift coverage from 2:30pm to 11pm. All new hires begin on the day shift (5:30am to 2:30pm) for induction, training, and compliance before moving to the afternoon shift if preferred.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Completion of Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application or Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology.
- Demonstrated experience in vehicle, defense, or heavy industry painting roles.
- Familiarity with paint technologies and standards related to vehicle painting.
- Willingness and ability to work afternoon shifts (3pm - 11pm).
- Possession of heavy vehicle driving and operating licenses is advantageous.
- High Risk Work licenses, including operation of cranes, forklifts, and elevated work platforms, are desirable.
- Must be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance, requiring Australian citizenship.
