Job description

About the Role

This full-time position offers an annual salary between £25,949 and £25,989, requiring 37 hours per week within a flexible schedule. The operative will provide a fast-response cleaning service, covering absences and urgent cleaning needs across multiple locations within Lancashire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver cleaning support across Lancashire Constabulary buildings, care homes, and council facilities.
  • Perform biohazard cleaning tasks on premises and equipment for Lancashire County Council and Lancashire Constabulary.
  • Execute cleaning assignments in compliance with Health and Safety standards, correctly utilizing appropriate chemicals and tools.
  • Operate specialized cleaning machinery such as heavy-duty floor scrubbers, industrial carpet extractors, and high-pressure steam or water systems to maintain hygiene in various commercial, industrial, internal, and external settings.
  • Maintain safety protocols, safeguarding both personal and public wellbeing while on duty.
  • Provide cleaning coverage throughout county locations including police, care, and corporate environments.
  • Complete required training for handling specialist cleaning equipment and surface maintenance techniques.
  • Adhere to corporate risk assessments and safe working methods with accountability for health and safety among premises users and key holders.

Work Hours and Conditions

The main working hours are during regular daytime shifts; however, the service operates 24/7, necessitating shared on-call and standby responsibilities among team members. Additional pay applies for on-call duties and extra hours, which will be explained during the interview.
