Role Overview

The Engineering Students Association of University of Ghana is seeking a seasoned and people-oriented Software Development Manager to guide engineering teams, strengthen technical standards, and help deliver reliable, high-quality software products. Key Responsibilities

• Direct, coach, and support software engineers to encourage innovation, teamwork, and ongoing improvement.
• Oversee software projects from planning through delivery, with attention to timelines, quality, and alignment with business goals.
• Guide system architecture, software design choices, and broader technical decisions.
• Work closely with product managers, designers, QA professionals, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and set delivery priorities.
• Track team output, project status, resource usage, and development-related metrics.
• Promote strong engineering practices, including code quality, testing discipline, security awareness, and effective development workflows.
• Look for ways to improve productivity, team effectiveness, and the overall development process.
• Assist with technical troubleshooting, risk handling, and innovation efforts across initiatives.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should bring hands-on experience leading software teams and managing engineering work. A solid grasp of development methodologies, architecture, and modern engineering practices is essential, along with strong people leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Experience working with Agile, Scrum, or similar delivery models is also important.
