About the Role
As an Operations Research Software Developer, you will design and implement advanced algorithms to optimize large-scale supply chains. You will work closely with teams to translate real-world supply chain challenges into mathematical models and lead the development and testing processes to ensure high quality software. Your work will impact the efficiency of supply chains globally, helping essential products reach markets sustainably.
Key Responsibilities
- Explore and integrate novel optimization techniques blending heuristics with exact methods.
- Convert complex supply chain scenarios into precise mathematical models.
- Lead design and implementation phases of mathematical modeling components.
- Create and execute test strategies, including unit, integration, functional, regression, and performance tests.
- Collaborate agilely with team members and stakeholders to align development efforts.
- Drive innovation in software development lifecycle by applying AI and tooling enhancements.
- Contribute to the strategic direction and expansion of Kinaxis into new markets.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Master’s or PhD in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience delivering commercial software solutions.
- Proficient in C++ programming, including object-oriented design, design patterns, and unit testing.
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and their real-world applications.
- Experience developing mathematical optimization models and using commercial solvers like Gurobi, Xpress, or CPLEX.
- Competence in designing and maintaining automated testing scripts and frameworks.
- Innovative approach to accelerate development with AI, while maintaining architecture and security standards.
- Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated code for functional accuracy and architectural fit.
- Preferred knowledge of machine learning techniques and supply chain management concepts such as demand planning, MRP, S&OP, and capacity planning.

- C++ for core software development.
- Commercial mathematical solvers for optimization.
- In-memory data server technology integral to Maestro platform.
- Development tools including Visual Studio, JIRA, Confluence, and Git.
- Internal testing frameworks for validating software correctness and performance.
