Software Application Development Apprenticeship - Starting March 2027

Program Overview

This apprenticeship is designed for recent graduates seeking to build foundational technical and professional skills in software development. The 12-month program combines hands-on work experience with dedicated training, offering exposure to various facets of software development including coding, testing, and project management within Google teams. Apprentices dedicate approximately 40 hours weekly on-site, with around 20% of their time allocated to structured learning sessions and the rest applied on practical projects.

Application Details and Important Conditions

• This is a part-time apprenticeship, not a full-time permanent position, lasting 12 months.
• The program welcomes candidates interested in software development, including those new to the field and graduates with experience in other industries.
• Apprentices may only apply for full-time roles at Google during the final three months of their apprenticeship tenure.
• Apprentices are expected to remain at their assigned work location throughout; location transfers are not allowed post onboarding.
• Applicants must submit a resume indicating their graduation year.
• The selection process extends over 18 to 24 weeks; applicants should anticipate this timeline.
• Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.
• Preferred work locations include Bengaluru, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, and Mumbai in India.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
• No active enrolment in academic programs.
• Under one year of experience in software application development.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Google Workspace or comparable productivity suites.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Quick learner with abilities to adapt and work independently or collaboratively.
• Capability to manage multiple ambiguous tasks and priorities, seeking guidance when necessary.
• Excellent communication, organizational skills, self-drive, positive mindset, and customer service orientation.
• A passion for emerging technologies demonstrated through personal projects and ongoing learning.

Role Responsibilities

• Adhere to coding standards and ensure quality compliance in software development.
• Contribute to software projects including implementation, unit testing, and integration to deliver quality results.
• Apply apprenticeship learning to practical, real-world software development scenarios.
• Conduct code testing following team or managerial guidelines to maintain standards.
