Role Overview
As a Social Media Coordinator at EFCU Financial based in Baton Rouge, LA, you will be responsible for energizing the organization's brand by crafting captivating content, nurturing engagement, and conveying the distinct personality, mission, and culture of the credit union. Your creativity and collaboration will elevate our digital footprint and connect with existing and prospective members effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and express the credit union's brand personality and tone consistently across all social media platforms, aligning with messaging standards and creative directives.
- Work closely with the marketing department to ensure social media posts are precise, adhere to brand standards, comply with regulations, and strongly support credit union campaigns across channels.
- Contribute to planning and implementing proactive social media strategies encompassing content calendar management, platform-specific publishing, engaging audiences, trend awareness, reputation monitoring, short-form video creation, and content optimization aimed at performance.
- Build, update, and steward the social media content calendar.
- Design and disseminate engaging posts involving captions, graphics, reels, stories, and video snippets that support financial education, campaigns, community collaborations, member involvement, and strategic goals.
- Oversee social media platforms by responding to comments and inquiries promptly and professionally, spotting chances to boost engagement and reinforcing the online community.
- Manage online reputation by tracking reviews and ratings across social media and related platforms.
- Keep abreast of social media trends, audience feedback, and new opportunities to refine content and maximize interaction.
- Analyze and report metrics such as engagement, reach, and audience growth, employing findings to enhance the effectiveness of social media output.
- Coordinate with graphic designers, photographers, and other creatives to ensure visually appealing and on-message content.
- Support community and chamber events alongside public relations activities, including onsite content creation through photos and videos, then sharing event stories on social channels.
- Capture official photos and videos for internal and promotional use, including new hire portraits, check presentations, and other institutional events.
- Collaborate cross-functionally within EFCU Financial to support launches of products, campaigns, web pages, and emails through social media content creation.
- Participate actively in marketing team goals and development planning sessions to foster communication and alignment.
- Assist with branch supply management and marketing inventory as required while prioritizing social media content creation and brand representation.
- Perform any additional tasks necessary for the credit union's smooth operations related to the position.
Compensation
This position is classified as Pay Grade 8 and is non-exempt under labor regulations. Hourly wages range from $21.17 to $26.47 dependent on experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a similar discipline.
- Between 2 to 4 years of direct experience in social media content creation, platform management, and engagement growth for brands, nonprofits, or community organizations.
- Proven ability managing organic social media channels, with skills in planning, posting, responding to engagement, managing reputation, and customizing content per platform audience expectations.
- Familiarity with content creation tools such as Adobe Express, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent photo and video editing software.
- Experience utilizing social media management platforms like Meta Business Suite, Metricool, Sprout Social, or comparable tools.
- Competence in social media analytics, reporting, and data-driven content improvement.
- Excellent written communication skills, especially in crafting attractive copy and social media captions.
- Creativity in producing content that is aligned with brand messaging and appeals to the target audience.
- Strong organizational aptitude and ability to manage priorities in a dynamic workplace.
Physical Environment and Demands
- The role is situated in a standard office environment free of significant hazards related to temperature, noise, or dust.
- Regular activities include walking, hand and arm movements, typing, standing and sitting, computer screen viewing, verbal communication, and hearing.
