Key Responsibilities

• Proactively anticipate and address guest needs, ensuring their complete satisfaction and promptly responding to inquiries.
• Take full charge of the boat, prioritizing the safety, security, and comfort of passengers and crew members.
• Lead, train, and supervise the crew while monitoring their progress and professional conduct.
• Maintain personal and crew uniforms, ensuring proper presentation and upkeep.
• Oversee the cleanliness and preparation of the assigned vessel prior to departure.
• Navigate and manage the vessel safely, following established passage plans and explaining any deviations.
• Handle distress alerts and coordinate with shore or relevant agencies when assistance is required.
• Respond effectively to emergencies according to designated protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness both inside and outside the boat at all times.
• Manage all logbooks and ensure accurate entries, as well as posting manifests before every departure.
• Report any unsafe actions or near misses to management.
• Ensure the vessel is adequately supplied with fresh water and fuel, manage black water discharge, and adhere to safe bunkering practices.
• Enforce safety and environmental policies, including no-smoking regulations.
• Report any technical issues related to the boat, navigation equipment, engines, or other systems to the Port Captain and relevant managers.
• Address passenger concerns properly and ensure secure lashing and stowing of luggage and cargo.
• Maintain good condition of mooring ropes and berthing equipment.
• Conduct departure inspections and report defective equipment to the operations team.
• Coordinate with Coast Guard and other authorities as necessary.
• Preserve all boat certificates, manuals, and registration documentation.
• Report crew absences or deficiencies and facilitate daily operational briefings for crew members.
• Ensure all fire alarm panels and firefighting and lifesaving appliances are fully operational.
• Share operational information with the succeeding skipper and Port Captain at shift end.
• Operate multiple vessel types, including IPS-driven vessels, and participate in crew training in collaboration with the training officer.
• Assist in drydocking transfers and related procedures.
• Engage in emergency sailing operations during heavy weather or restricted visibility only with Marine Operations Manager approval.

Qualifications and Skills

• Certified Master 500 with valid STCW certification, valid radio license, and medical fitness clearance for sea work.
• Between 2 to 5 years of relevant skipper experience.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Good technical proficiency related to vessel operations.
• Professional and pleasant personality.
• Capacity to perform well under pressure and multitask effectively.
