About the Role
Join Parsons in an exciting opportunity as a Site Engineer specializing in Landscape and Irrigation. Based in Qatar, this position involves overseeing the supervision, coordination, and quality assurance of landscape and irrigation installations across infrastructure, urban development, public spaces, and commercial projects. You will be responsible for verifying that all systems are built, tested, and handed over adhering strictly to project specifications, sustainability goals, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage onsite landscape and irrigation work ensuring alignment with approved technical drawings, specifications, and established procedures.
- Oversee installation of irrigation components including networks, controls, pumps, valves, sprinklers, and drip systems.
- Supervise landscape construction tasks encompassing planting, hardscape, softscape, and water feature installation to maintain design integrity and quality.
- Review shop drawings, material submissions, and method statements related to landscape and irrigation work to provide detailed feedback.
- Assist in evaluating irrigation plans, hydraulic computations, and water demand considerations from a site execution viewpoint.
- Coordinate integrated activities involving civil, architectural, MEP, drainage, and utility teams to prevent conflicts onsite.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits to ensure compliance with project standards, sustainability targets, and health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
- Verify planted species against approved lists and assess their suitability for climate and environment.
- Monitor water management efficiency and irrigation system performance, endorsing sustainable irrigation practices.
- Track contractor progress, identify issues, and recommend or supervise remedial measures.
- Prepare detailed documentation including inspection reports, daily logs, snag lists, and other project records.
- Support commissioning, testing, and handover procedures for irrigation and landscape installations, including participation in onsite performance evaluations.
- Enforce adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality protocols throughout the site.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Civil Engineering, or related disciplines.
- At least 10 years of total experience in landscape and irrigation projects, with a minimum of 5 years in a site-focused role.
- Exposure to major infrastructure, urban development, highways, parks, and public realm projects.
- Proven experience in supervising construction and coordinating site-based landscape and irrigation systems.
- Competency in interpreting engineering drawings, landscape plans, and irrigation designs.
- Sound technical knowledge of irrigation system components and installation, landscape construction techniques, and sustainable water conservation practices.
- Knowledge of relevant international and local construction standards and mandatory MME certification.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; experience with Civil 3D and GIS is beneficial.
- Professional certifications in irrigation or landscape management considered an advantage.
- Experience working in Middle East/Gulf, especially with arid-climate landscaping projects.
- Understanding of Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) or equivalent regional standards.
- Work background in public parks, streetscapes, highways, stadium precincts, and urban landscape environments.
- Knowledge of smart irrigation systems and advanced sustainable water management techniques.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail and quality assurance.
- Capability to oversee multiple concurrent site activities and meet project timelines effectively.
