Site Engineer

Role Overview

An established residential development in Navan, County Meath is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support a major long-term build. The project includes houses, duplexes, apartments, roads, and services. In this role, you will take ownership of the on-site engineering activities, including setting out, checking levels, carrying out quality checks, and supporting the Site Manager with the daily running of the project.

Key Duties

• Carry out setting out for foundations, rising walls, drainage, kerbs, columns, beams, and walls.
• Establish and monitor levels, while coordinating groundworks, block layers, steel-fixers, shuttering carpenters, and concrete pours.
• Measure and survey site works and maintain subcontractor records.
• Work with the Site Manager and Purchasing team on materials planning, ensuring correct specifications, timely delivery, and minimal waste.
• Coordinate with Irish Water and prepare QA folders and as-built records.
• Oversee both direct labour and subcontracted operatives on site.
• Support quality assurance and building control standards throughout the project.
• Carry out health and safety tasks, including inductions, audits, and PPE oversight.
• Handle general administration and document control duties.

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant will have a degree or other relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction, along with experience working as a Site Engineer on residential developments, preferably in Ireland. Strong capability in setting out and surveying for groundworks, drainage, and structural works is essential. A practical understanding of how houses, duplexes, and apartments are constructed is important, as is a well-organised approach to record keeping and site administration. The role also requires confidence in dealing with site teams, subcontractors, and Irish Water, together with a solid grasp of health and safety and quality standards.

• Salary range of €65,000 to €75,000.
