Cloetta is expanding its U.S. presence and is looking for a shopper marketing leader to help build a strong, scalable platform for growth in the United States. The business is a Northern Europe-based confectionery company with a long-standing heritage and a portfolio of well-known brands. As the U.S. market moves into its next phase, the focus is on strengthening retailer relationships and creating consumer activation that connects European brands with American shoppers in a locally relevant and commercially effective way.

This position sits at the center of that effort. You will help translate brand strategy into local execution across retail, digital, and experiential channels, working closely with Sales, Global Marketing, agency partners, and retail customers to drive awareness, trial, and long-term brand growth.

Location and reporting line

This is a Tri-State area role with NYC required. The position reports to the U.S. Country Manager and has a strong functional connection to Global Brand & Marketing.

Mission and impact

The main purpose of the role is to execute marketing, shopper marketing, and retailer activation plans that support Cloetta’s brand growth in the U.S. market. You will independently run marketing plans built on global brand strategy, tailor approved global materials for U.S. retailer and shopper needs, and deliver retailer programs, shopper initiatives, trade shows, and retailer-facing marketing activity.

You will also work across Sales, Global Marketing, agencies, and retail partners to make sure execution is consistent, timely, and effective across channels.

Key responsibilities

The role requires someone who enjoys turning strategy into action and working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial setting. Core responsibilities include managing U.S. marketing initiatives, adapting global toolkits for local use, coordinating timelines, and ensuring brand execution stays consistent across retail, digital, and experiential touchpoints.

You will also create sell-in materials, retailer programs, and shopper marketing campaigns; support category reviews and retailer presentations with the Sales team; lead retail promotions and retailer-specific marketing programs; and keep all retailer-facing materials aligned with brand standards.

In addition, you will manage trade shows, sampling events, retailer meetings, and consumer experiences that help introduce Cloetta brands to U.S. shoppers. You will own influencer, social, and experiential programs with agency support, and help deliver launch and promotional initiatives across key channels.

The role also includes agency and project management responsibilities, such as overseeing U.S. creative, digital, PR, and experiential agencies, managing deliverables and activation calendars, and connecting global and local stakeholders so everyone stays aligned.

Finally, you will analyze consumer trends, category movements, and competitor activity in the U.S. market; evaluate marketing and promotional performance; provide insights and recommendations for improvement; and identify opportunities to strengthen retailer partnerships and increase activation impact.
