Job description
Overview
The Senior Test Engineer in NPI is responsible for spearheading the deployment of new products and technologies within the manufacturing plant and supporting pilot and ramp-up capabilities in testing, debugging, and technology expertise. This position requires presence onsite in Dublin, Blanchardstown.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering (NFQ Level 8) from an accredited university or college.
- Five to ten years of relevant professional experience, ideally within an electrical manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Test Engineering deliverables aligned with NPI schedules and roadmaps, encompassing new technologies, test processes, equipment, and process development.
- Conduct training and mentorship for test engineers and technicians on new products and novel features.
- Manage technical relationships with customers and spearhead site enabling activities.
- Perform detailed analyses of product test quality to detect trends and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Oversee engineering test functions for standard and custom devices based on technologies introduced during NPIs.
- Identify and evaluate required test procedures and equipment to ensure adequate test coverage.
- Analyze data to promote systemic improvements in product, platform, and operational performance throughout product life cycles.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and company security policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to manage test development progress, including escalation of issues and roadblocks affecting customer expectations.
- Create forums encouraging exchange of ideas and information within the department, promoting a safe environment for full team engagement.
- Adapt communication styles to meet individual team member needs and encourage collaboration.
- Identify and develop individual and team strengths through ongoing assessment and training curriculum development.
- Coach and mentor Test Engineers I & II for outstanding internal and external customer delivery.
- Set clear measurable goals for individuals and teams, monitor operational metrics, and solicit continuous feedback to guide coaching and development.
- Conduct timely professional performance evaluations and recognize achievements to motivate team members.
- Organize and coordinate activities of large teams, maintaining focus during crises.
- Understand and align with campus strategic directions, contributing to test engineering strategies and regularly updating management on execution progress.
- Find innovative ways to reduce costs by improving or re-engineering processes, monitoring departmental expenditures and providing feedback for financial efficiency.
