Senior Scrum Master / Project Manager

About the Role

This opportunity is for a Senior Scrum Master / Project Manager located in the United States. The role centers on leading Agile transformation and delivery excellence within a rapidly expanding technology organization. It involves guiding multiple software engineering teams and enhancing Agile practices to improve delivery predictability. Combining practical Scrum leadership with strategic program management, coaching, and continuous operational improvement, this position serves as a critical link between Product and Engineering teams to ensure clear alignment between business objectives and execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive Agile program practices across various engineering teams by defining and sustaining consistent Scrum meetings, processes, delivery standards, and escalation protocols.
• Provide coaching and support to Scrum Masters to elevate facilitation techniques, Agile maturity, and team productivity.
• Directly act as Scrum Master for selected teams, overseeing meetings, backlog management, sprint execution, and resolving any delivery impediments.
• Design and maintain an Agile Development Metrics & Quality Accountability Framework leveraging Jira and GitHub data to generate actionable delivery and quality insights.
• Create and manage reporting dashboards to monitor delivery performance indicators, including sprint predictability, cycle time, throughput, work-in-progress, quality patterns, and defect management.
• Implement standards for code review quality, defect tracking, accountability reports, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within engineering teams.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management and Product Owners to translate strategic roadmaps into executable Agile plans.
• Facilitate scaled Agile initiatives such as cross-team coordination, dependency tracking, planning sessions, and delivery health assessments.
• Identify improvement opportunities, including the application of AI-based engineering tools to enhance operational efficiency.
• Communicate potential delivery risks, quality trends, and enhancement opportunities clearly to both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience serving as a Scrum Master, Agile Project Manager, or equivalent role in software development environments.
• Proven experience coaching or leading Scrum Masters and Agile practices across multiple simultaneous teams.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Agile frameworks such as Scrum, SAFe, Scrum@Scale, or other scaled Agile methodologies.
• Experience acting as an intermediary between Product Management, Product Owners, and Engineering teams.
• Proficient in managing Jira, including configuring workflows, sprint setups, boards, and Agile reporting functionalities.
• Familiarity with GitHub pull request processes, branch protection mechanisms, and Jira-GitHub integration.
• Skilled in creating and applying delivery metrics, quality measurement systems, and stakeholder reporting tools.
• Ability to analyze operational data and convert findings into actionable improvement plans.
• Knowledge of AI-assisted engineering tools and contemporary software delivery workflows is preferred.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, coaching, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Certifications such as CSM, PSM, or equivalent Scrum Master credentials are preferred; SAFe certifications considered advantageous.
• Experience with BI and reporting solutions like eazyBI or similar platforms is highly beneficial.
• Experience in regulated sectors involving compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH, PCI DSS) is an advantage.
