Role Overview
We are recruiting a seasoned Senior SAP Basis Consultant to strengthen our expanding SAP practice based in Auckland. This role offers an exceptional chance to engage with major SAP S/4HANA and RISE with SAP projects, spearheading technical architecture, cloud migration, and system optimization initiatives. As a crucial team member, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining SAP infrastructure, collaborating closely with business leaders, system architects, and SAP specialists to deliver innovative, scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for SAP Basis service delivery across SAP environments.
- Deploy, configure, operate, and support SAP S/4HANA platforms within RISE with SAP frameworks.
- Handle SAP system installations, upgrades, migrations, system refreshes, and patch management.
- Implement SAP Cloud ALM and enforce operational best practices.
- Maintain optimal system availability, performance, security, and reliability.
- Coordinate with SAP on critical incidents, upgrades, escalations, and support cases.
- Support S/4HANA conversion and transformation programs.
- Govern multi-landscape SAP environments including development, testing, QA, and production.
- Lead technical issue resolution, root cause diagnostics, and performance tuning efforts.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with infrastructure, cloud, application, and business units to ensure delivery success.
- Mentor Basis consultants and technical teams, fostering knowledge sharing.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards, governance, and SAP best practices.
Experience and Skills Required
- Between 12 and 18 years of experience in SAP, encompassing both technical and functional perspectives.
- Demonstrable experience leading SAP Basis teams and managing enterprise-wide SAP landscapes.
- Participation in at least 3 to 4 full SAP implementations, including one or more S/4HANA system conversions.
- Extensive hands-on expertise with SAP S/4HANA and RISE with SAP platforms.
- Proficient in implementing and managing SAP Cloud ALM solutions.
- Strong background in SAP installations, upgrades, migrations, system copies, and tuning system performance.
- Sound understanding of SAP infrastructure components, cloud environments, database systems, and integration mechanisms.
- Experience handling technical escalations and SAP support processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Skilled at guiding technical teams and leading large-scale SAP transformations.
