About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Projects HSE Risks & SIMOPS Engineer to support critical offshore brownfield projects in Qatar. This contract role involves leading health, safety, and environmental (HSE) risk management, coordinating simultaneous operations (SIMOPS), and ensuring secure project execution spanning engineering, installation, and offshore activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive HSE and project risk management processes throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Develop, coordinate, and oversee the implementation of SIMOPS documentation.
- Assist project teams in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks related to the project.
- Examine contractors’ HSE documents to confirm compliance with project standards.
- Perform HSE audits, inspections, and carry out comprehensive risk assessments.
- Manage the project risk registry and supervise follow-up on mitigation measures.
- Collaborate with operations personnel, contractors, and other stakeholders to maintain safe offshore operations.
- Encourage and uphold a robust culture of HSE across multidisciplinary project teams.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Process Engineering, or a closely related engineering field.
- A minimum of 12 years’ experience in HSEQ and Risk Management within the Oil and Gas sector.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with SIMOPS planning and coordination.
- Proficient in HSE Management Systems and project risk oversight.
- Practical familiarity with offshore brownfield projects including construction and installation phases.
- Skilled in conducting HSE audits and inspections.
- Well-versed in international HSEQ standards and recognized best practices.
- Strong communication and stakeholder relationship skills.
- Fluency in English is mandatory.
Additional Information
This role is offered on a contractual basis with remote working arrangements. The compensation is competitive and will be in line with market standards for this senior engineering role based in Doha, Qatar.
