Senior Mechanical & Electrical Technician

About the Role

At Mandarin Oriental, Singapore, a world-renowned luxury hotel by Marina Bay, we are seeking a Senior Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Technician to enhance our Engineering team. This position is integral to sustaining the highest standards of building services, ensuring a seamless and sophisticated guest experience.

Main Responsibilities

• Oversee daily preventive maintenance of all facility plant and equipment, including HVAC systems, power installations, refrigeration, plumbing, fire protection, and kitchen machinery.
• Detect, repair, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment across the property.
• Direct, mentor, and supervise technicians on your shift, ensuring prompt and safe completion of all assigned maintenance tasks.
• Manage maintenance calls from various departments and assume full responsibility for all engineering activities during overnight shifts.
• Assign tasks in the absence of the Duty Engineer and confirm that completed jobs meet hotel standards.
• Log plant, equipment, and utilities data meticulously and provide accurate feedback on work orders, including use of materials.
• Execute planned preventive maintenance per a set schedule and regularly test emergency standby power generators.
• Monitor the inventory levels of spare parts and inform the Duty Engineer of stock status.
• Report irregularities or equipment misuse to the Duty Engineer, and inspect public areas for maintenance needs during evening and night shifts.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of working areas at all times.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a comparable role within a luxury hotel environment.
• Proven ability to adapt and perform under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced workplace.
